El Rey Burrito Lounge is one of the trendiest places to eat in Montgomery, AL. This dive includes all the good vibes a avid food eater is looking for. Anytime I am looking for a tasty dinner, El Rey Burrito Lounge is at the top of my list. Located in the Old Cloverdale district, you are able to experience all of the arts and foods in the area.

A traveler from California had these amazing things to say about El Rey: “As someone from an area with lots of incredible Mexican food, I didn’t expect El Rey to blow me away, but it totally did. There were so many excellent options that choosing just one was really difficult (always a good problem to have, especially as a vegetarian!). I ultimately went with a platter, which was an awesome sampler of much of what El Rey has to offer. Everything on it was incredibly fresh, well-seasoned, well cooked, and truly delicious. In addition to the awesome food, the drinks were really stellar. I opted for the Salsa Verde Gimlet, which sounded odd (gin, tomatillo, cilantro, and lime) but was so utterly delicious I ordered a second one. El Rey is absolutely worth a visit when you’re in Montgomery.” While this dive is a unique hole-in-the-wall, the owner also runs Leroy, a bar next door. Many residents of Montgomery tend to eat at El Rey as an escape.

Another visitor from Atlanta had this to say: “Very unexpected ambiance and food. Outstanding fresh food quality and retro 70s feel. We had the Mighty Burrito with steak and the steak street tacos. Very juicy meat and tasty sauces. Sides were plentiful and guac was fresh. Our server was very cool. Too bad we live in Atlanta or we would be regulars.” If you are looking to catch a good bite, this is the place to go!
